Nook Vs Kindle
When it comes to e-book readers, there are two biggest names that buzzing out: the Nook vs. Kindle. People are really confused if which of the two they should buy, as they both contain different features and benefits. Kindle came from the famous online store, the Amazon, while Nook is from Barnes and Noble. This is perhaps the most significant difference among the two; if you are a loyal Amazon customer or Barnes and Noble shopper, you can definitely easily choose which product you’ll buy.

But not considering the store in which they came from, you will obviously look in their specs and other features. Let’s start with the looks. Both of them have 7-inch IPS display but the Nook is a little bit longer than its counterpart. In terms of the quality of the screen, the Nook displays a brighter image than the Kindle. Another thing is that Kindle contains a physical and yet small keyboard below the screen, while the Nook features has space-saving touchscreen. If you are much more comfortable navigating a keyboard than the other, then opt for a kindle. These features really give idea to people which of the two they will use. The advantage of Nook vs. Kindle is that is it’s found to be more responsive when being tapped.
Another plus for the Nook’s external design is it’s easier to grip as it has a strip in the bottom for a more comfortable holding while the Kindle has rubberized back which is too soft and not good for gripping. Another advantage of the Nook vs. Kindle is the specs. The Nook beats the Kindle by having a 16GB storage and 1GB RAM compared to the 8GB storage and 512 RAM of the latter. The Nook tablet also has a microSD card slot which allows users to store more files.
In terms of the battery life, the Nook’s last longer. With Wifi on, the Kindle Fire tends to last for up to 6 to 7 hours, while the Nook Tablet can lasts up to 7 to 9 hours. So if you want to watch full movie, you know which of the two is better. Another cool feature of the Nook is its LendMe feature where users are allowed to lend a copy of their book to another Nook user. Although it’s just limited, this is really a great feature knowing that you can lend a book even in the digital age. Kindle doesn’t have this feature but as an alternative, you can still lend your kindle to a friend in case he wants to read some of your e-books.
But when it comes to the performance, Kindle is faster and provides fluid performance. The Kindle may have cheaper specs compared to Nook but it’s incorporated with technologies like the Amazon’s Silk Web Browser that makes the product runs faster.
Price of course is also a great factor to consider. The Kindle is cheaper than the Nook. The price of a Kindle starts from $199 while the Nooks’ price is $249. That’s only $50 difference; however, if you want to save 50 bucks, you can opt for a Kindle.
Indeed, this is a tight battle between the Nook vs Kindle. Talking about the specs, the Nook may be however better than the Kindle. But with the performance and price, Kindle beats its counterpart.
